In the early stages of development, an Interpretive Centre will be built at the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens site, providing a hub for visitors, students and researchers, and a unique venue for the local community and tourists. The Centre will provide information on the Gardens and Barkindji Biosphere, showcasing current conservation and sustainable development research projects, and providing interactive high quality displays about the flora, fauna, geology, archaeology and cultural heritage of the Biosphere Reserve. The Interpretive Centre will include a range of educational facilities to cater for a diverse student population - from young school children, through to postgraduate students and even University of the Third Age participants. The Centre will use latest technology to allow long-distance learning and interaction - creating a Virtual Biosphere. |
